Come see the sights for yourself. You'll fly with Photographer and Pilot Douglas Noblet, in a three passenger Cessna aircraft. With high wings and a window that can open for unobstructed views, the Cessna 172 or 182 is a perfect platform for aerial photography. We can fly during daylight hours, including sunrise and sunset. Tours are operated out of the Nelson Airport, in partnership with Kootenay Lake Aviation. Price is per person, based on a minimum of 2 people (max 3), and taxes are included.
This 30-minute tour will take up the scenic West Arm of Kootenay Lake to Balfour, where it joins the main body of the lake, and back to Nelson again.

We'll assess the weather and make a decision prior to the flight, with safety as a priority. If the conditions are not optimal for photography, we are happy to reschedule your flight.
Yes, we can fly at any time of the year. There are generally less clear days in the winter, however, the views are just as spectacular!
Yes! All ages can participate. Children up to two years old are considered infants, and must sit on the lap of a responsible guardian. Children older than two must have their own seat in the aircraft.
Dress for the season. The aircrafts are heated, however, if you would like to open the window during flight it will be windy and much colder, so bring an extra layer.
We'll meet in the Nelson Airport terminal building, located at 89 Lakeside Drive in Nelson.
If the combined weight of all passengers (maximum of three) and gear is greater than 600 lbs (~270 kg), please let us know.
We'll fly in either a Cessna 172 or 182. Both planes have room for 1 pilot + 3 passengers. They are operated and maintained by Kootenay Lake Aviation, based in Nelson BC.
